Former player dies in Baghjan’s fire

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, June 9: Assam lost a former national footballer in its fight to douse flame at Baghjan production well of Oil India Limited at Tinsukia.
The body of fire fighter Durlov Gogoi, the former goalkeeper of the state, and Tileswar Gohain were recovered on Wednesday at Baghjan. Both of them were missing since Tuesday after a massive fire broke out at the Baghjan.
Durlov turned out for Assam in both junior and senior State teams for a long period. Later he joined OILFC team and played for them in the club level tournaments.
Recalling his association Bidhan Das, the former coach of Durlov, today said, “Durlov played under me on several occasions. He was a very good goalkeeper.”
