Assam thrash Manipur in Vijay Hazare

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Feb 21: Assam thrashed Manipur by 10 wickets in their opening game in Vijay Hazare Cricket in Chennai on Sunday.
Chasing revised target 117 in 25 overs (due to rain interruption) Assam took 94 balls to reach the target without losing a wicket. Opener Pallav Kumar Das remained not out on 75 (53 balls, 9 fours and 3 over boundaries) and his opening partner Denish Das (36no, 41 balls, 4 boundaries) was giving him accompany when the match came to an end.
Earlier the match was reduced to 33 overs due to wet out field and Manipur, invited to bat, scored 108-6 in 28 overs when rain interrupted the innings and match was stopped.
Langlonyamba Meitan Keishangbam (25) was the top scorer for Manipur. Rajjakuddin bagged two wickets while Pritam Das Amlanjyoti Das and Gokul Sarma collected one wicket each.
With this victory Assam earned four points from the game.
In the next game the side will face Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
