West Bengal, Odisha win Kho Kho title
Online Staff/GUWAHATI, April 3: West Bengal and Odisha lifted men and women title in the East Zone kho Kho Championship which ended today. Assam jointly bagged third position in both the categories.
Odisha, in the women final, defeated West Bengal while Assam and Jharkhand collected the third spot jointly. In the men section, West Bengal beat Jharkhand in the final. Assam shared the third sport with Manipur.
The closing function was held at the South Point School which was attended by Subhash Basumatariy, the Director of SAI, as a chief guest along with sports organizer Balendra Mohan Chakraborty, Principal of South Point School Krishnanjan Chanda, President of Sapta Renu Utpal Sarkar and the president of the Assam kho Kho Association Rajib Prakash Baruah. Manoj Sarkar of West Bengal and Madhushmita Oja of Odisha adjudged as the best player in men and women section respectively. It may be mentioned here that Assam kho kho Association hosted the event in association with South Point School and Sapta Renu, a socio cultural organization.
