Assam players shine in AITA series

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Aug 24: Several players from Assam performed will in both the Boys and Girls Doubles Finals of the AITA-- National Series Tennis Championship played at the Jorhat Tennis Club today. In the Boys event, the Assam pair of Udit Gogoi and Anchit Gogoi had a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 win over the Karnataka pair of Maanav Jain and Anmay Yogesh Devaraj in the Semi Finals this afternoon. In the Girls doubles, Kristi Boro of Assam partnering Shatavisa Ghosh of West Bengal stormed into the finals beating Thanshitha Reddy (TS) and Lakshmi Gowda (DL) 6-1, 6-3. Laater Ishika Chakma of Assam and Sanjana Sarimalla of Tamil Nadu fought a tough match to get the better of Saniya Masand and Lakshya Vishwanath, both from Karnataka, 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 to enter the Girls Doubles Finals.
