Bodousa Cup Soccer to kick off on July 2

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, June 17: The seventh editions of the Bodousa Cup Soccer Tournament, to be organized by the Bodousa Sports Club, will kick off on July 2. The preliminary stage of the meet will be held in four different cities while Tinsukia will host the group-stage matches along with two quarters, two semi finals and final.
Addressing a media conference in the city the president of the Bodousa Sports Club Arunjyoti Moran said, "Like the earlier years this time too we have decided to host the initial phase of the meet in four venues -Tinsukia, Golaghat, Silapathar and Nagaon. Silapathar and Tinsukia will also be the venues for quarter finals and later we will organize the remaining matches, including final which is slated for July 16, at Tinsukia."
Regarding the participation of the team Moran said, "Altogether 18 teams will take part in this edition of the meet. Among them 15 teams including Shillong Lajong Academy, ASEBSC, OILFC, Assam Police, NF Railway confirmed their participation. Three more teams from Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur or Mizoram are likely to join them.”
Responding a question on the prize money the president of the Bodousa Sports Club said that the champion team will get cash award of Rs one lakh while the prize money for the runners up team is Rs 50,000. There will be cash awards for individual categories and fair play award winner too.
The media briefing was also attended by the secretary of the Assam Football Association Ankur Dutta. In a brief speech Dutta today advised the Bodousa Sports Club to start a Grass Root Center at Tinsukia and AFA will provide all kind of support for that.
Moran responded positively. He said, “Already we have planned to start soccer academy in a joint adventure by Tinsukia District Sports Association and Bodousa Sports Club at Tinsukia.

Champion: Rs One lakh
Runners up: Rs 50,000
Fair play Trophy: Rs 10,000
Man of the Tournament: Rs 3,500
Best Goalkeeper: Rs 3000
Highest scorer: Rs 3000
Man of the final: Rs 2500
Man of the match (each game): Rs 500
