Bundapara to get new soccer academy
Online Staff/GUWAHATI, Aug 18: Assam is all set to get a new football academy and this time it is at Bundapara, Boko.
Football For Development of Sports, a non profit organization which is promoting soccer in rural areas, will open the academy in association with Kamrupa Football Coaching Centre.
The vice president of the Football For Development of Sports Prosenjit Dutta addressing the media today said that the academy will be a non residential and players of age group U-11and U-14 will be selected for training in the academy. They will also organize a trial camp on August 26 to select players for the academy.
Football For Development of Sports currently managing 6 academies at North Bengal and has taken initiative to expand their activities in Assam and other parts of the Northeast too.
The secretary of the Assam Football Association Ankur Dutta, who was also present at the media briefing, said, ”We need to introduce professionalism in the football and for that we need quality footballers. I hope this academy will
give us quality footballers in the coming days.”
