Soccer camp of Guwahati City FC begins

Online Staff/GUWAHATI, July 15: The 10-day summer soccer camp, organized by Guwahati City FC in association with Shillong Lajong FC, kicked-off today at Gauhati University playground. Around 120 players from different parts of the northeast, Bhutan and also from Chattisgarh are taking part in the camp which is supervising two coaches Vishal Pradhan and Ritupan Boro respectively.
Former state goalkeeper Gobinda Boro, a member of gold medal winning team in 2007 National Games, inaugurated the camp. During his speech, Boro advised the players to stay caution during training. “You must be disciple to be a good player. Besides, you must be very careful so that you don’t injure yourself during practice,” said Boro.
Kaustav Chakrabarty, director of Guwahati City FC, informed the media that they received overwhelming response from the young players on day one. He added:” We are expecting at least 20 more players by Sunday before the registration process came to an end.”
All the BPL and players from orphanage homes have been provided free of cost training and other facilities.
