Assam Judo Academy starts in Guwahati

Online staff /GUWAHATI, April 30: Assam Judo Academy, a project of Judo Federation of India, inaugurated at the RG Baruah Sports complex here today. The inaugural function was attended by MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya as a chief guest along with President of Judo Federation of India Mukesh Kumar, Director, Sports and Youth Welfare Department Pabitra Ram Khound, President of the SJFI and ASJA Subodh Malla Barua, Secretary of Meghalaya Judo Association Dipak Mallik and the Secretary of the Assam Judo Association Sailen Deka. Talking to the media person during the opening ceremony Mukesh Kumar said that the purpose of setting up the JFI Training Centre is to identify young talented judo players between 13- 21 years and train them under qualified coaches with modern training facilities.
